As a way to get the smartphone market going again, Nothing just released its first smartphone. Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, is the man of the hour. He has been from Nokia to Nothing and from not going to college to being a great business owner. Pei was born in Beijing, China, on September 11, 1989. He and his family later moved to the United States. After that, they went to Sweden, where he grew up. He began the Bachelor of Science study at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2008. But he didn't finish it because he wanted to work in the Chinese smartphone business, which was his dream. In 2010, Nokia was Pei's first job. He joined Meizu in 2011 after the Hong Kong branch of the company saw the fan page he made. The same year after, he joined OPPO. Pete Lau was Pei's boss when he was the International Market Manager for OPPO.
In 2013, he worked with Lau to help start OnePlus. He became the Global Director of the company. Pei was only 24 years old at the time. Pei said in January 2021 that he was going to start a new business called "Nothing." The Nothing company, which is based in London, released its first product, the Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earbuds, in 2021. Their price was reasonable, and they had a design that was appealing or at least different. The sound quality was also pretty good. It became a big hit right away because of its unique clear form (1), and over 560,000 units have been sold. Pei told everyone about Nothing's first smartphone on March 23, 2022. The smartphone market has been missing in originality for a while, so this was meant to shake things up.
On July 12, 2022, the Nothing Phone (1) was finally released.
The rear panel is completely transparent, allowing you to see the interconnected components beneath, such as the wireless charging coil and several exposed screwheads. Nothing's only branding is a small logo in the bottom corner. Design that is more than meets the eye. Toughness is provided by dual-sided Gorilla® Glass. Touch responses are realistic thanks to advanced vibration motors. The metal frame and symmetrical bezels provide elegance, lightness, and durability. The Snapdragon 778G+ in the Nothing Phone (1) was adequate but plainly mid-market. The Nothing Phone (1) has a 4,500mAh battery that lasts approximately 16 hours after a full charge, depending on how the gadget is used. HDR10+ on a 6.55" AMOLED display. Richer color and deeper contrasts, tailored to the scene. Made entirely of recyclable aluminum. With over 50% of plastic components derived from bio-based and recycled sources, we lead the industry. Packaging made from recycled fibers.
Nothing Phone (2) is a straight replacement for Nothing Phone (1). Phone (2) is outfitted with a 2022 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which boosts its internal workings and makes it far more powerful than Phone (1). To begin, the LED design differs; the main LED on the Phone (2) is divided into six sections, but the same LED on the Phone (1) is a continuous strip. While filming videos, Phone(2) also supports Advanced HDR and enhanced image stabilization.
The Phone (2) battery life has been increased to 4,700mAh, which, along with the more efficient LTPO OLED screen and the equally efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, provides an all-day smartphone experience. The Nothing Phone (2) is significantly taller, wider, and heavier than the Pixel 7, but nearly comparable in thickness. Both devices are made of metal, however the Pixel 7 has a stronger Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back, and the Nothing Phone has a lesser variant.
