India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in an exciting Barbados final to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007, hence this is their second World Cup victory overall. The Indian side, captained by Rohit Sharma, won an ICC trophy after an 11-year wait; their most recent victory came in the form of the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Hurricane Beryl, which struck Barbados, caused delays for the squad, support staff, and families on their journey home. Nevertheless, they arrived in New Delhi to a hero's welcome. Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding performances earned him the title of Player of the Tournament. With their victory, India has won the most T20 World Cup matches ever—35 out of 52 games—more than any other side. As the team arrived, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted them with congratulations, invited them to stay at his house, and talked with them about their experiences in the competition. Wankhede Stadium erupted in shouts as skipper Rohit Sharma praised all-rounder Hardik Pandya during the victory parade in Mumbai. With this victory, India now has two titles in the T20 World Cup, sharing the record with England and the West Indies. The tournament's 20 teams will compete in its 2024 edition, up from its original 12 teams in 2007.

Thousands of supporters turned out to welcome the winners, cheering them on, waving flags, and dousing the players in flowers. The team's victory over England in the championship match has sparked a surge of pride and excitement among the populace.

Celebrities, sports figures, and important government figures attended a lavish reception event. The crew received congratulations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised their outstanding effort and commitment. "Our players' perseverance and teamwork are evident in this victory. He stated, "The entire country is proud of their achievement.

In addition to thanking the supporters, captain Rohit Sharma underlined the team's cohesion and resolve. This is an Indian victory shared by all. We gave it our all on the field, driven by the love and encouragement of our audience," he remarked.

Plans are in motion for a national tour to commemorate the team's accomplishments and enable supporters from all around the nation to partake in the happy occasion as the celebrations continue. In addition to returning the T20 World Cup trophy to India, the triumph has stoked a newfound interest in cricket among millions of people.
